I received the Nokia 5330 mobile TV edition phone last week and did not have high expectations for it; who would? To add to that, the instructions attached clearly stated that it is part of a pilot program with DStv and is currently not available in South Africa. Hence, pricing has not yet been determined. It also said to expect glitches.
For the testing phase, (I’m not sure if this is applicable after it launches), a Vodacom SIM gives you 6 channels and an MTN SIM gives you 8 channels. Read more…
I downloaded the iBooks app that was made available after iOS4 was launched (it’s free). I also downloaded a few free books, Winnie the Pooh, Macbeth and Dracula and two sample books: Why we suck by Denis Leary and Bro on the go by Barney Stinson with Matt Kuhn.
What I like about the app is that it works smoothly. You turn the page by swiping your finger across, much the same way you do other stuff on an iPhone. Read more…
I’ve been patiently waiting for my iPhone for the last 2 weeks and on Friday, when I left work after midday, I hopped straight into bed with my Mac. I had good reason: it was freezing!
I debated going into the kitchen to make a cup of tea and eat more Tinkies (I ate 3 boxes in the last week), but laziness got the better of me and I stayed in bed the whole time. By the whole time, I mean for about 6 hours. Had I gone and made myself a cup of tea, I would have discovered this* sooner:
Moral of the story: always make yourself a cup of tea instead of debating on it, you never know what you might find in your kitchen.
* My husband likes playing hide & seek and always does random stuff like this, which is why he didn’t tell me he fetched my phone.
