The Core Group, distributor of Apple in South Africa have announced that a local textbook app will launch in January 2013.

To get started, you will need the CineXPlayer app for iPad. It is an Xvid avi video player that supports a wide range of formats (except .mkv – but I prefer watching those on my HDTV).

I wasn’t planning on getting the new iPad (or as some like to call it the iPad 3) but lately I’ve started using my first-gen iPad a lot more (a little late, but how awesome is Flipboard?), in a bid to try and cut down on my laptop usage at home.
