cell cAfter Vodacom and MTN announced their 79c a minute prepaid tariffs on per second billing, Cell C has hit back with its new 66c a minute prepaid tariff.

Cell C’s rates are valid until 30 September pending the outcome of the Mobile Termination Rate review (MTN is permanent and Vodacom is promotional).

All prepaid tariffs are now 66c a minute on per second billing, and customers who want the lowest call rate (in the country), will have to migrate to the new tariff plan.

Postpaid customers will now pay 79c a minute on per second billing on a choice of three different contract options – ChatMore Standard, ChatMore 200 and ChatMore 400. All have the anytime flat rate of 79c a minute. ChatMore Standard is available to customers who have their own handset, on a month-to-month basis.

ChatMore 200: 200 any-net minutes; 150MB of data = R159
ChatMore 400: 400 any-net minutes; 300MB of data = R319

The new tariffs are available from 1 June till 30 September.
