If you haven’t already Found this app (Android and iOS), let me tell you a little bit more about it. Found was previously called Pashash, and relaunched its rebrand at Design Indaba last week in Cape Town.
I love that this app is locally developed; and is backed by Google. While it was called Pashash, it won The Next Web’s Startup World: Cape Town round of the world’s best technology startup.
The app is a cross between Pinterest and Instagram, sort of. It’s a platform that lets you share cool things or specials/bargains you come across while shopping. It’s really as simple as taking a pic, uploading it, listing the price (and % of discount where applicable), geotagging it, and adding a description. You have the option to share it on Facebook or Twitter. It has a social aspect of “liking” what’s on your feed; and showing you how much you saved. So if you’re a shopaholic and want to track how much you save shopping at sales, download it and give it a go! Should offset the guilt of shopping way too much, right? 😉
I started using it last year and was in contact with one of the co-founders, Faheem Kajee, who requested feedback. It’s always a good feeling when your thoughts on ways to improve is taken seriously, and implemented. As someone who hates using Facebook to connect to other services, I brought this up; and you can now sign-up with your email address too. Thanks Faheem!
You can also search for deals near you, or see what’s trending. The app is currently available on Android and iOS only. Interested in trying it out? Download links here.
