A new website dedicated to printing Instagram photos went live in South Africa a few weeks ago.
For just R4 each, 250gram will print photos from your Instagram feed and deliver it straight to your door through courier.
The website has a minimum of 20 prints per order, which works out to R80 and with a R30 courier fee, it will cost R110 for the smallest quantity.
I got to try the service last week, and I’m thoroughly impressed with the quality of printing. I’ve used a couple of Instagram printing services internationally and 250gram is on par with professionalism, but when it comes to the whole user experience, the local offering exceeded my expectations. And I love the packaging!
Firstly, you are not forced to sign up. It doesn’t get better than that. You just need to login with your Instagram credentials, and your feed is loaded up. You choose what images you’d like to print, add it to your cart, and proceed to checkout.
I ordered my prints on a Friday and they were delivered by the following Friday. I loved the packaging and especially the prints. You can feel how good the quality is by the thickness of the paper. It’s been a while since I had a such a good experience with a local service.
The whole process is seamless, the website is slick and you can place your order within a few minutes. You also have a choice to buy a gift voucher – I think this is going to be one of the best reasonably priced gifts to give friends who are on Instagram – and take good pics, ha!
You can order 20 prints at R110; 40 prints at R190; 60 prints at R270; 80 prints at R350 or 100 prints at R430 – courier fee included.
If you use Instagram a lot and want to print some shared memories, I highly recommend you give 250gram a try. To see what the fuss is about before buying a batch of prints, I have a voucher to giveaway – details below!
WIN
I have a voucher (20 prints + courier) to giveaway to one Wired to the Web reader, courtesy of 250gram. All you have to do is answer the following question by Friday midday: What photos of yours are you most excited to get printed? It doesn’t matter if its your food, cat, travel, selfies, or sunsets… Let me know via the comments.
I will select a winner on Friday afternoon using random.org. Only one entry per person.
Good Luck!
UPDATE
The winner as per random.org was the last person to enter:

I’d love to surprise my friend Sam with this as a gift. I’m always in awe of what I see on her Instagram. And I’d love to see her pics go from her phone to photo frames around her home.
This is a tough one to answer….do I have to choose just one because I would have all of them printed as I love all of my Instagram snap shots because it represents who I am as a person but if I had to choose I would say the pictures I have taken of my daughter and I is the snaps that are so near and dear to me 🙂 Fingers crossed!!! xxx

Holiday pics and random moments 🙂
Highlights from all my holidays.
The timelessness of every single one to be totally honest! <3
I would definitely print the ones of my sister’s wedding seeing that her photographer went MIA and the last NYE that we spent together before she moved away. I’d make a huge photowall in my room with all my amazing prints!
Definitely my Noah!
It’s hard to choose with so many pictures that I’ve posted so I think I’d like to print a series of #tbt posts. That way, I can pin them up and have a gallery wall that reminds me of my favourite memories of people and places. 🙂
Can’t compete with this answer! Fatima DESERVES to win this!
Selfies with cats. The only bloody thing I seem to post 😉

I realised when I first saw 250gram that I don’t have 20 favourites to print out yet… need to take better pics although this one from our Taiwan trip might make the grade.
I just got back from the arctic circle, and as someone who doesn’t get to travel very much I would love this! So many pictures to choose from 🙂
