One of the most challenging things to shop for is a handbag that fits an iPad. Well for me at least.

For about a year and half now, all my handbag-buying decisions have been based on “would my iPad fit into it?”. And when I do find a bag that it fits into, I’m not entirely happy with what it looks like.

It’s always a compromise – get something practical or get something that looks good. And when it comes to bags, we all know that practical doesn’t equal style.

So when Apple’s PR asked if they could send me one of their new range of designer bags made especially for an iPad (or up to an 11″ device) to try, I couldn’t say no!

The Knomo range of bags is exactly what’s been lacking in local stores (from my shopping experience) – a blend of style AND functionality. They have a stunning, fashionable range of accessories and sleeves for laptops, phones, tablets, e-readers, etc. The Knomo website allows you to browse and filter by device (iPhone, iPad, Macbook, Kindle, or screen size) and there’s a range for men and women.

The bag that I’ve been using is the Knomo Silvi Cross Body in soft leather. I love cross body bags, and whaddya know, this particular one is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s not chunky, holds your iPad and other essentials and has several pockets for easy access. I can put a parking ticket, car keys and money for parking in different pockets without fumbling for any of them when exiting a shopping centre.

Knomo bags also offer a tracking feature. Each bag has a unique code attached to it, and all you have to do is register your details online so if it does get lost, and some honest person returns it to a Knomo agent (like an iStore), they will get it back to you. All bags come with a 2 year guarantee.

The range of bags are available locally through iStores nationwide (and just in time for the holiday season!) at a recommended retail price of R1499.
