Yesterday I got to meet the man who is the voice behind Mario, Charles Martinet. If you follow me on Twitter, you would have seen my updates. The man is full of life – Nintendo’s Kate Kearny said it best when she said it’s like he has 12 personalities in one body.
Here is a snippet of him speaking in character:
After the meet and greet and answering questions, he was signing posters, and whatever else anyone wanted signed. I (with permission), as did many of us, took the giant mushroom cutout and got it signed:
He goes everywhere with Mario and Luigi figurines and at his visit to Moyo, got their hats painted (1 dot each):

Yeah, I think it’s a favourite game from our generation (and probably older). It’s what we grew up on and it always brings back fond memories. My sister and I used to fight over controller 1 just so pause the game mid-air and irritate player 2.
I always come here wanting to comment, unfortunately I’m not techy enough most times and have nothing to say. But today, I can say that Mario Bros was my all time fav on Nintendo (it was Nintendo? well I think it was)… anyways, aside from Tetris, it was the only game (still is) that captivated me (and I’m not really a gamer as such) 😛
