Yesterday Lenovo announced a slew of new products at IFA 2015, currently taking place in Berlin, Germany.

Lenovo kicked off the event with a focus on gaming and shared interesting information like there are 1.8bn gamers in the world and of that, 1.2bn are PC gamers. Interestingly enough, they also said almost half are women.

So the gaming range includes a high-end Idea Centre PC and a Medion erazer laptop. A bunch of well-designed accessories are also available (keyboard, mouse, headset).

The Idea Centre PC was made to give gamers an easy way to upgrade, so everything inside can be replaced without requiring tools.

Lenovo also introduced their PHAB range of mobile devices, which they say is a combination of the best of both a smartphone and tablet. According to Lenovo’s research, people don’t use their phones for making calls anymore. Some interesting info shared by Lenovo on what people do instead:
– 18% watch videos
– 13% troll social media
– 12% play games
– 3% use the camera (think it may be higher?)
– 7% watch sport
– 10% keep up with the news

Given all the above, the 6.8″ Phab Plus was born to let people do “other things”. Played with the handset briefly, it is quite large for me, of course.

Lenovo also announced the Yoga Tab 3 Pro (remember how amazing the previous generations were?), which they are calling the “ultimate video tablet”. The company says its key focus areas on the Yoga Tab 3 Pro were: display (projector; 50 lumens), sound (JBL; Dolby), content, battery life (up to 18 hours; 10 000mAh) and versatility (4 usage modes).

As expected, a new Moto 360 was announced, which looks great (it comes in 2 sizes). I have yet to use a smartwatch with a round face but it has the narrowest bezel compared to others. It comes with a wide range of different bands and a women’s collection.

Other Windows 10 announcements were the Y Series, M Series, ThinkPad Yoga 260, ThinkCentre Tiny (military grade). Smartphones included the Vibe S1 with dual selfie cam and Vibe P1.

I cannot confirm when these products will come to South Africa.
