The award-winning 55” curved OLED TV was first revealed at CES 2013 and is now available at selected premium retailers in South Africa.
It measures 4.3mm thin and weighs 17kg. The IMAX-like curved TV can be viewed from all angles with the same colour accuracy, and features an ‘infinite’ contrast ratio.
The Smart TV has a user-friendly interface with Smart Touch Control at the bottom of the screen, magic remote, passive 3D, and speakers embedded in its transparent “crystal clear” stand.
The 55” curved OLED TV (55EA9800) will go on sale at a recommended retail price of R200,000.
LG South Africa also announced 55- and 65-inch Ultra HD Smart TVs with its own built-in decoder that plays HD content from a USB flash drive – a first for any manufacturer. Both have 178-degree viewing angles, and upscales any content, and nano full LED backlighting.
Both curved OLED and Ultra HD TVs come with built-in wireless connectivity options (WiDi and Miracast), and LG’s NFC-based Tag On for device pairing. 3D is available on all TVs.
The recommended retail pricing for the two Ultra HD TVs – 65” at R85,000 and 55” at R60,000.
