HMD Global, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer who makes Nokia phones has announced a new brand strategy and six new handsets across three categories. Its new tag line is Love It, Trust It, Keep It, which is how it describes what consumers want to do with their phones.
The three new categories and naming conventions are a top of the range X-series; a mid-range G-series and an entry-level C-series. The six new handsets that fall into these categories are: X20, X10, G20, G10, C20 and C10.
Both the X-Series smartphones, Nokia X20 and X10 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G processor, offer three years of security and software updates and will be run on the Android One interface on Android 11. Both smartphones will have a 6.67-inch full HD+ punch hole display and a 4470mAh battery capacity. It comes in either 6/8GB of RAM or 64/128GB storage.
X20: Features a 32MP selfie camera; a 64MP quad-camera.
X10: Features a 48MP quad rear camera.
The mid-range G-series, the G20 and G10 both have a 6.5-inch display, and promises a 3 day battery life from its 5050mAh battery.
G20: Features a Mediatek G35 2.3GHz chip; 4GB of RAM; 64/128GB storage; quad cameras (48MP + 5MP + 2MP macro and 2MP depth) and 8MP selfie-cam.
G10: Features a Mediatek G20 2.0GHz chip; 3/4GB RAM; 32/64GB storage; 13MP + 2MP + 2MP camera with an 8MP selfie-cam.
The entry-level C-series C20 and C10 will run on Android 11 Go Edition, feature a 6.5-inch HD+ display, promises security updates for 2 years and a full day of battery life.
C20: Features a 1.6Ghz chip; 1/2GB of RAM; 16/32GB of storage; 5MP main and back camera; 3000mAh battery.
C10: Features a 1.3GHz chip; 1/2GB of RAM; 16/32GB of storage; front and back LED flash cameras with HDR; 3000mAh battery.
The Nokia X, G and C series will make its way to South Africa but pricing and availability is TBA.
