TomTom South Africa will now offer live real-time traffic updates via its Twitter account @TomTom_SA.
TomTom already has live traffic info on its navigation devices, which is updated every 2 minutes; and are now bringing this service to everyone via Twitter.
What I like about it is that it’s hashtagged according to different parts of a city, example in Johannesburg you will find #JHBNorthTraffic #JHBEastTraffic etc. Makes it easy to follow updates in your area.

Technically you don’t have to follow the account, you can just save the hashtag relevant to your area for reference while on the road (I think it is also dependent on your Twitter client). I usually check TomTom live traffic map before I leave the home or office, depending on what time of day it is; but it’s just more convenient via Twitter.
