Later this month Wii Sports Resort launches and it looks like loads of fun (its compatible with the Wii MotionPlus). If you enjoyed the Wii Fit, then you’d probably enjoy this a bit more. It includes the folllowing games: Archery, Air Sports, Basketball, Bowling, Canoeing, Cycling, Frisbee, Golf, Power Cruising, Swordplay, Table Tennis and Wakeboarding.

At the launch (or should I say preview?) today:

New Super Mario Bros. which was announced at E3, will be launching sometime this year. Nintendo could not confirm when, but it’s looking good:

I’m not sure if die hard fans will appreciate the simultaneous multiplayer mode. I personally prefer playing on my own.

Unfortunately I will have to wait a bit to get my hands on the Wii Sports Resort title. I have Grand Slam Tennis with Wii Motion Plus on review, which I should get around to playing sometime soon… someone’s gotta do it 😉

I think the Wii is good entry level gaming console or for people not too interesting in gaming, save for a few titles.

That said, I totally envy you going for that launch 😛

p.s. Like this gadget widget on the side

I think Resident Evil was one of few titles with an age restriction of 18+.
To date 51 million Wii’s have been sold globally – not bad at all!

Thanks. Pretty soon one of the ‘want’ gadgets will be in the ‘have’ section 😉

The Wii is, was and always will be a mediocre gaming console for kids under the age of 10 and old people with ASSritis.. It is still a glorified remote control, regardless of what consoles it comes out with.

Gaming is an art, a passion, a way of life and should be done with some seriousness, comfort and focus.. Not standing around in your living room behaving like a moron..

I have 2 TRAVEL locations on my wish list.. E3 and COMICON..

P.s – Ur gadget widget has a freakin PS2 on it.. Slit my wrists already 😛

Mediocre that sells millions (more than double the amount of PS3s). As long as there is a market for it, it will survive. It’s good fun.

Yep, I’d love to go to Comicon. I think its more fun planning a trip around an event.

    Oh, bite me 😛

Obviously it would sell more than the PS3.
Cos majority of the world has an IQ of around 85 which is in proportion of Wii sales. And with that statistic, the market will always be there for it. I mean really. What better way to say i had fun. Than standing and punching air in the midst of your living room on a Sunday afternoon.

Id so go dress as SPOCK at the comicon

I think each console has a market tapped into. I am not a particular fan of any console but Wii serves its purpose to the market catered for and Xbox/PS3 serves theirs (the more serious, traditional gamer). I also think Nintendo has done well to bring the “casual” gamer into the market and hence have a winning formula and 53 million consoles proves that there is a big “non-serious” gaming community out there as well.
In a nutshell, I dont think one can specifically say that XBOX/PS3/Wii is the best but rather there is a market for each purpose and place for all three even in the same house? I know quite a few people who own all three for various reasons and uses….

    ^good points

I think perhaps that is the reason Dreamcast never made it, it was very similar to PS1 but wasn’t supported as well, and graphically PS1 was much more superior from what I saw

I prefer the Xbox over the other consoles

I have all three consoles and I split them this way – I use my wii for entertaining the kids (mario kart and mario galaxy) the ps3 is there for blu ray and I use my xbox for gaming.

I wouldnt knock the wii though as i love playing mario galaxy and madworld. i’m happy that Nintendo are attracting the casual market. I’m thrilled that more people are into gaming.

Waseem – you are mistaking the dreamcast for the saturn. The dreamcast had awesome graphics for its time (it was released before the ps2 and gamecube) A lot of people knocked the saturn – i had one and i thought it was awesome for 2d fighters – I still think my N64 trumped the ps1 and the saturn though
