Wired to the Web is a technology blog by Nafisa Akabor that covers mobile, gadgets, apps, how-tos, motoring, and occasionally, travel, with the odd video now and then.
Nafisa has been in the online publishing space since 2005. She quit the travel industry to write about technology in 2007 and hasn’t looked back. She has over a decade of experience in consumer and business technology, and has written for many tech publications including Forbes Woman Africa, Quartz, ITWeb, My Digital Life, Digital Life magazine, Marie Claire, TFG Tech, Destiny Magazine, Sawubona, Women’s Health and TechCentral. Nafisa has also done corporate blogging for ShowMax, Nokia, Microsoft, Samsung, BCX, iFix, Nashua, Vodacom, Mercedes Benz and Telkom. She currently writes about technology for City Press, Forbes Africa, Forbes Woman Africa, Financial Mail, Sawubona, Your Family and Cars.co.za in a freelance capacity.
Nafisa currently serves as a judge for the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards, and in the past, the SA leg of the global TADHACK hackathon; MTN Business App of the Year; and the GirlCode Hackathon. She has also judged private companies internal staff app awards. She occasionally appears on SAFM radio to speak about technology.
